Did you manage to write something for big bang this year?

Yeah, my posting date is July 30th. But I've had serious snafu throughout the entire process. I lost the last part of draft one when I was copying and pasting it all into one file to send the mods. Instead they got an awesome essay about fire service, but they didn't catch that anything was wrong, so I got an artist. It was only after that I learned I lost around 9,000 words. *headdesk* It was so hard to rewrite it, and it turned out to be incredibly confusing as I added stuff into part four that didn't actually happen in the first three parts. So now I'm working on making the whole thing jive into a finished draft and I haven't even sent it to anyone to beta yet because I suck.

Wow, that was some major whining, wasn't it? I didn't mean to unleash on you like that. Sorry! : )

I am really excited still though. My artist made some good pieces, and I think the good has still outweighed the bad.

Wow. That sucks. I am just in the last stages of editing my story. There was one section that I was super unhappy with the characterisation, so I am fixing it up as I type this (obviously not at the same time, but the file is open and I am working on it).

I have yet to see what my artist has prepared! I have asked (as I am trying not to prod) how close she is to a finished product, and she said last weekend she'd have something for me, and then this weekend, and then this morning, and it is now 6 PM, and I have yet to see anything and our posting date is on Wednesday.

But she's viding. Doing a trailer, so I can understand her need for perfection. But I'd like to at least see what she has at this point in time before our actual post date. So, yeah.

Also, after artists picked stories, I didn't even send her my file until almost the end of May, so it was tight. But I'm getting anxious.

Oh, I bet your fic will make an awesome vid. I'm excited to see that now too, and I'm sure that it'll be awesome. : )

I've felt weird both years working with the artists. It's like, I don't know how carefully to tread because, yeah, my story, but I don't want to stifle them or anything. Plus this year I was all screwed up and didn't even have a whole story to give her. This kind of colaboration is just strange.

Yeah. Well, this is the first big bang for me AND for my artist, so we aren't really sure how to do things.

But I don't know. I just keep sending her LJ messages asking how things are going and I feel like I'm just being fed false promises. I mean, I know the artist I got is amazing. I was actually really excited when I saw who it was (I hunted through the claims, I'm not going to lie).

But yeah, you don't want to ask to see things too often lest they get annoyed with you. D:

Ah, that can be nerve wracking. I don't know if you remember, but I think I whined a little to you last year about the same issues that I had with my artist. That all turned out okay, so hopefully, your's will too.

I think at this point, it's either going to get done, or it won't and there's no sense in bothering them. At least if your artist can't get it done, I'm pretty sure that wendy will be able to find you someone quick. I didn't like the way they did artist claims this year. It wasn't right letting artist grab two prompts at once and I think it might come back to bite her in the butt.

I'd make you arty type stuff myself. : )

Yeah, I remember you telling me about some issues you had with your artist last year.

I trust her to finish it. I just would like to see it before the posting date, that's all that bothering me. Just that I keep being told I'll get to and then am left feeling high and dry.
